My birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I am trying to decide what to buy myself. :grinno:

I am in the process of restocking my living room aquarium (my main "show" tank) and am having a hard time deciding what to get next.

The tank:

135G (72x18x24) freshwater community
1100 GPH turnover plus 1200 GPH circulation pump (Tunze Turbelle)
300G sump with loads of DIY filtration
33% daily water changes (automated)
320W VHO and 130W PC lighting

pH = 7.6, Nitrates < 5ppm

Stocking:

One large Angelfish
One Red-fin Prochilodus
One Blue Phantom Pleco
Three Surinamensis Eartheaters
1 - Australian Rainbow
1 - Rasbora
3 - Lemon Tetras
4 - Serpae Tetras
4 - Glass Cats
6 - Diamond Tetras
7 - Columbian Tetras

I am thinking about some peaceful SA/CA Cichlids, but I don't know for sure. More Eartheaters? Mesonauta? Heros? I am considering a school of Corydoras as well as some new Cichlids. What else might be cool?

Justin (JK47) can help you out quite a bit if your going the SA/CA route, most important though - get something you really like since its a present to yourself

135 display tank with a 300 gallon sump? Narly filtration.

Thanks, maybe I will shoot him a PM if he doesn't see this thread!

Yep! :WHOA:

The sump is in the crawl-space of our house. I put it there while they were still working on the foundation, I got some strange looks from the contractors when I explained the hot-tub-sized Rubbermaid tub was for a "fish-tank filter".

The tank was originally set up as a reef, but I got bored a few years ago and converted it to a FW setup.

Hey Dan! If your in the market for some SA's I have a few I will happily give ya free for your birthday. ;) (my bday is the 19th fyi) I am going a different route with my 300. Shoot me a PM. My male Heros sp. Rotkeil is a stunner and about 7". A school of corys would look great in there. I prefer sterbae myself. TWS has them pretty cheap right now too. If your interested in a trade I have been in the market for adult geo abalios for a while now if you can get a proper I'd on your suri's. (haven't been true suri's in the hobby for years) I have heros, pike uaru etc.. Email me a pic and I'll I'd for you. Can't really think of many peacful CA's that can go with your current stock but you can never go wrong with more eartheaters. :)

Not a bad idea! I am a bit torn between trying to make it an all SA community or not. It wouldn't be hard to move the Glass Cats, Rosy Barbs (forgot to mention them) and the Rasbora, except that they are all fish my wife picked out... ;)
