I haven't had a reef setup for yrs but from what I have read Soft Corals are easier than Hard Corals. I suggest species like. Blennies,Small Gobies, Mandarin Goby are one of my personal favorites and Sea Horses. Other such as Feather Dusters and even Tridacna Clams.

Cycle your tank is the key! If you using live rock, live sand to cycle then consider that you only have bare minimum bio system and it won't cut in for a reef tank and most folks report that they have mini cycle after added live stock and thing went wild killed everything. I suggest do a heavy fishless cycle for at least 2~3 months to get amber of BB then do 90%~100% WC or multiple 50% WC to get rid of Nitrate before adding fish, then let your tank run for another few months before attempt adding Invertebrates (Anemone species) or Corals, patient and time are key to success in saltwater. While you are still in cycling phase, I would suggest setup a QT along with your main tank cause your new fishes will need to QT for at least 1 month (2 months QT would be better) before add them to display tank. Also, remember to choose your live stock carefully since when it's in your tank with live rock, it's almost impossible to get them out unless your want to tear down your tank a part and re-scape over again.

Very crucial advice
