I just made a trade with a friend from work. He bought a 160 gallon with a homemade stand (ugly stand I'm going to rebuild) for $75 from a friend of a mutual co-worker. I would have bought it but didn't have the extra cash. Well he didn't want to dump a bunch of money and work into it to get it up and running so I offered to trade him my 55 with solid pine stand I bought 4 years ago at a yard sale for $40. To my surprise he agreed!:headbang2 The 160 gal's dimensions are 48" x 18" x 42" so yeah it's a tall mother! I may use it as a show tank for One of my fh's when they are full grown but not sure yet what to do with it. I could divide it with egg crate and put a couple of fh's in it but that would look kind of goofy. Any ideas?

make a oddball tank. or breed FH. what ever you do GL. :D

True. Everybody here will suggest what they would do with it, not what you would enjoy. On that note, I would get a breeding pair of Oscars. :D

Yeah. I figured it would be a pain to clean but I can get it done! It's GINORMOUS for a breeder tank! I just wish I had a male mature enough to breed my female zz rd!

Bigger tanks are harder to breed FH in IMO. They do better as pairs in 55gs or 40gal breeders. Get some Stingrays in that bad boy!

42" is kinda deep, might cause structural safety if you don't live on the first floor/basement. And you might jump into the fish tank to siphon poops.

The walls of this tank are super thick and there is a brace across the top in the center. so the tanks integrity is not a concern to me, but the floor holding up definitely has scurried through my mind a few times!
