Just looking for some Ideas recently. Felt like a change from large fish.
The tank is 225g 3' wide and right now the only thing in there is a little 1.5 inch Synodontis Decorus that I bought to keep the bacteria cycle going until I decide what to stock.
The syn is pretty cool though he has way too much freedom, even comes and eats flake from my hand.

So jealous. Blue Arowana fun too watch, sail fin pleco, clown loach, ornate bichir, bgk, and load it with smaller community fish. Lightly planted and use sand. That would make a nice large tank. Some semi aggressive showcase then community too make it a little clearer. Do a lot of water changes too make it look clean and use tetra water cleanser. That right there would make a beautiful tank...

I guess you have to narrow it down.you want schoolers, or breeding fish, natives....i would do a SA biotope.geos for the bottom, some bigger mellow type:chocolate, parrot, severum, acaras.maybe 20 lemon tetras

Wow thanks for the replies guys, I was just throwing around Ideas. Right now my water is beautifully clear. I would say my tank was adequatly filtered and my fish were all happy and healthy for years but I could stand to add more filtration and I probably will. Right now its like crystal though, I did a big 50% change.

little syno keeps running 16ft loops around the tank, its fun to watch.

I guess I really like the idea of having a community, being able to go to the store and say, Oh I like this fish I will add it. I had CA and SA cichlids for a long time and I hate how they would beat on eachother and have compatibility issues. I would like an interesting tank with lots of different things going on, lots of interesting inhabitants.
I wouldn't mind some cool noncichlid species like elephant noses or something like that.
I already have a 120 with some BP, SB texas, Rainbows, congos and a single severum. So I am not interested in keeping those species

Here is a very basic plan I drew up of how I wanted to set up my tank with rocky outcrops

I only got so far as the middle rock stack, I have lots of room to work with in terms of aquascaping.

It's probably easier to say what I would not like, I do not have interest in these fish...
Aggressive american cichlids
Malawi cichlids
wet pet
super large or aggressive fish that require large territories
