I will be constructing a 2000 gallon plywood aquarium...I have heard good and bad about pond armor but not much about blue max or any other kind...please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I think a aquarium safe epoxy might work it might be worth digging for the king of diy on youtube. He used to have a big plywood tank

Agree with B Biohazardchiclid123 . There's a bit of "get what you pay for" with epoxies so ask per-brand including to the manufacturer, but if you're worried then do 6~7 coats rather than 5 and/or do a layer of fibreglass or another thickening agent. Ultimately it seems that the pond/aquarium-specific materials are just epoxy with various rubberizing & thickening agents, thus 3 coats -vs- 5.

Alt, ask the paint-shop for a sealing material for potable rain-water tanks. Berger does one for concrete tanks, but you may have to dig as the desk-people often don't know. These are usually also thickened epoxies, non-toxic and quite a bit cheaper, though you may no get have colour choice - Bergers' comes in white or blue. I know the chemist, but no, I've not tried this option as my wife wanted the rendered cement finish (lovely, by the way). I'm using WestSystem as I've got a bunch left over from an ancient BostonWhaler refit. Setting 5x coats is a headache, but so it goes.

If worried about the timber specifically, there are wood-penetrating epoxies that might give you a "safe" first coat, to which you can know that the next (cheaper/different material) coats will adhere.

Thanks a lot...I am really looking forward to this as if is my first large aquarium...my biggest now is a 125
