Check the eyes if cloudy, full fins, never get one with an yolk sac still attached, if you can, ask to see it eat.

Well generally for silvers, make sure its eating prepared foods full barbels, If you want them to grow up with some red on the fins they should already have it, if not look for no red. As for Jardini they will have colors, such as Gold, Red, Blue, or really dark. They basically grow to that color but do lose color unlike Asians. Leichardti all look the same when small hard to predict.
When choosing a Silver, make sure it has both barbels, even fins, no cloudy eyes, proportionate body, and aros should be swimming mainly close to the surface of the water... don't pick one out that is laying at the bottom and unproductive!

someone wrote something similar to mine that i found better. i cant find it but this nails it just as good.
long and nice barbel,no cloud eye,no lame fin and tail,active swimmin and always stuff..lastly the one that attract you..that's what iam doin when buyin any new monster collection..good luck with new pick up and post some pix..
