Ive tried a few pellets, my Cichlids respond far better to sinking ones. They universally reject NLS, even after a 3 day fast. They aren't big enough for massivore yet (and im not a big fan of its price either).

Aqueons cichlid staple "sinking" pellets dont actually sink. Wait 10 min and maybe 10% will sink. Any suggests besides presoaking and crushing floaters?

Omega one cichlid sinking works very well that's what I used. Never soak and only about 10 percent or less continue to float

New era makes a great sinking pellet in a couple different formulas. Most my fish eat it, even the one that reject NLS. I've only been able to find it at one LFS though. It is what they feed there fish.

3 day fast isn't much, they will eat NLS in time. That being said I've fed NLS Cichlid, NLS Thera, and Omega One super color. All sink well.

+1 to new era they do a decent range of pellets , none of my fish have ever rejected any , even my jardini ate new era on the odd occation and he spat pellets out like fun all types all brands

Hikari has a few kinds of sinking pellets, algae wafers sink, some of my cichlids eat them....Kensfish has some too

How many days would be considered long, or mid-range?

4-5 is mid range. Long to me is a week or more. My fish have easily gone a week plus without food. Only thing you'd have to worry about is someone eating someone
