What size mag-float to buy?

I got a 50 gal glass tank.

The 30 small says its good only for 30 gal max

the 125 medium says its good only for 125 gal max, which is the next one up.

So should I get the 125 or the 30?

my glass is 1/4" wide

If the glass thickness is the same on a 30 as it is on your tank it will be fine.

I have a large that I bought for my 240gal. I also use it on other tanks down to 55gals. The magnet is a bit strong for really small tanks. So, I'd go medium.
