For a beginner starting off in rays....what size should you start with. is 5" too small and too young? would it make any difference to start off with a 9".

Just wondering because I heard that the smaller they are the more delicate they are.

as long as the ray is feeding well you have seen it feed yourself and its not being shipped far then it doesnt matter what size the ray is

WHAT MATERS MORE IS THE SIZE OF YOUR TANK NOT THE RAY..... YOU NEED A LARGE TANK AFTER THE 8-10" MARK........, IF YOU GET A SMALL ONE (4-6") THEN IT WILL BE OK IN A 120 (4' X 2') FOR MAYBE A HALF A YEAR TO 3/4 OF A YEAR.............

I am starting off in a 125... so maybe the smaller one for a a short while then....thanks

ps I will be upgrading to a larger one soon. I wanna see if I am able to keep a ray first. I am nervous since I have never done it before..

I currently use a red sea test kit that tests for amonia and nitrite and ph of course. Is this a trusworthy kit?
