Guys I just want to ask if what is the best size for a newbie like me, to take care of a silver arowana?

6 inches and above will be a good size to start. But i dunno if your country have anything bigger.

I bought a 17inch silver arowana a couple days before, and I ain't felling it, well the aro is like big already and I wanted to start with a small one, cause I been reading some threads about arow in their young stage often dies.

I just want to start small, but not small enough for a newbie like me to take care of.

i agree with koji start with one around 6-7" thats where i started. lot more stable than a 2"er and still got plenty of room to grow

So are you keeping the 17" one?? I enjoyed growing mine out, I have had her for 1 year and she has grown a steady 1" a month so far. I agree the smallest ones are not good to start off with...the heartache of them possibly not making it would be tough.

ya I'm still keeping the 17" in my friends aquarium, I still don't have the money to get a bigger tank, maybe this coming 24th I'll be able to get one.

Is it ok to mix a 17" aro with a smaller one? lets say 6 or 7 inch aro?
