What size pump?

That's not a very effecient pump @ 1100W. Will cost you about $112/month to run.

Oh I guess I didn't answer your question about what size pump. I run a 3000gph pump on my 225g and the fish fight some current when they swim in front of the return. It is enough current to blow a hole in the gravel substrate.

9300gph is utterly ridiculous on a 225g tank, I'm sorry :) Maybe if you were raising fish that like to live at the base of waterfall, but i think that much flow would stress out any fish. Me personally, I think 8-10x turnover is good. And even then some folks think that's overkill.

Not to mention the actual wattage draw could be a lot higher than 1100w.
