Asking for some more experienced hobbyists out there on this one.

I have 7 1" fish I am growing out in a 20g - will be doing water changes every other day and power feeding. I want to put them in my main tank that has a 3.5-4" fish. Obviously if I put them in at this size they will be a snack, so wondering what would generally be a safe size?

Also on that same note, what's a quick way to fatten up some geo. red heads?

Depends on the temperament of the fish.

I kept some guanacara that were 1" with my 20" aro with no problems, there's a single endler that is about 1/2" in there as well and nobody bothers them.
I have 5-6" Geo. Altifrons in this tank and they don't seem to bother anyone either.

I've saw the best growth/coloration with NLS pellets for my Altifrons, they get a bit of tilapia/krill/bloodworms/earthworms/superworms/omega shrimp pellets/massivore as well but the main diet is the NLS.

With your geos, how long did it take them to get from 1" to 3"?

And I went to my LFS last night and picked up some NLS.

It really depends what fish ur trying to put together. I introduced 3" red devils to my monster tank of 10" beasties and they are fine now would i introduce 3" severums or rams? Heck no they wouldnt be able to hold their own.
