I plan on making a 600 gallon ply wood tank. I currently have a 50 gallon sump and a FX5. I also have two Aquaclear 110's. Would this be enough? Also what type of flow rate should I be doing?
i do at least 3x turn over at very least. so im assuming that your sump is running @ 950 (like mine)and your fx5 is 925 and the 110s are @ 500 a piece.
thats 950 925 and 1000
=2875gph
im going to say you should be fine. but you really want hobs on your tank?
I would say put a large rubbermaid stock tank as a big boy sump for your 600g. It would look so much better to ditch the HOB/Canister in favor of sump. Also if you got a honkin sump you can use a large portion of it for plants to help export nutrients.
so ditch the 50 gallon sump? or did you guyys mean add another sump? what size of rubbermaid container? and can you guys post a quick link for a good quality DIY rubbermaid sump?
