Here's my stock-
3-jack dempseys
3-oscars
1-clown loach
2-plecostomus
Anything else in my stock will be gone. So these are my main concerns. Probably getting rid of the clown loach too as I don't want him eaten. I was thinking 200 gallons. What's the bare minimum? I was thinking of possibly splitting up some of the stock. Like maybe putting the jack dempseys alone in a 90 while the oscars are in another tank. Idk yet. What's a bare minimum tank size for the 6 cichlids? I will get rid of the plecos and clown loach most likely. So what's a bare minimum with cichlids only?

for all 6 cichild i would say a 200 gallon...

6x2x2' 180 gallon tank would be fine for room. Though this does not mean that they will all get along, especially if any pair up.

A good rule for large south and central American cichlids is 30 gallons per fish (with 55 being minimum for 1 fish) So 180 sounds good!

Yeah think I'm gonna get a 180. Not sure yet. I might buy a 125 for the oscars, then buy a 90 for the jack dempseys. Will that work? Then ill put one large pleco in each setup. Then put my other stock in current tank

That would work. But if you get a pair, you're always gonna have issues.

i think that would be fine there would be enough room in each tank i think for your fish to live together

I decided to try my luck at building a plywood tank. Saving up now. I'm going to build a 200-350 gallon tank. Probably in the 250 range. I'll set this up in my basement. Along with my other tanks I have currently. I'm gonna build it huge so I have room to play with. I'm first going to build a 10-20 gallon plywood tank to see how I am at building it. I might just go ahead and build a 400 gallon tank. I might build a large tank in the 400 gallon range because I will maybe pick up some other fish too.
