What size tank for Calvus?

I have 55 and a 29 gallon empty after moving all my polypterus to my new 240 long. I want to get a colony of Frontosa, but I think you need more like a 120 for that, so my next pick is some type of Alto. How many and what types can I keep in these tanks?

use the 55, get about 15 calvus is thats all you want. i like the black variant myself. you're right, fronts need bigger tank. you could keep fronts in the 55 if you plan to get a bigger tank in the next year. i got my 6 fronts a year ago and they probably could have done fine in a 55 til now.
 
120 is still too small for fronts, anyways. How many comps do you plan to do? I can see a few in a 55, but they do get close to 6 inches. I could not see putting too many in their... They are extremely slow growers, so it will take time...
 
I don't know how many and what types? I just recently started to take a liking to them and am still doing research..... what types can co-exist? do they do well with any other type african cichlid?

my julies and calvus did fine together. i think either my fronts or my wifes borleyi ate it
