I am looking to get a new tank. I want to be able to put all of my SA cichlids in one tank together I have a red belly pacu managuense cichlid jack Dempsey 2. Red Texas fire mouth 2 plecos 2 four line pimodella and a striped Raphael catfish. Any ideas on what size I should upgrade to would be greatly appreciated.

Right now the pacu managuense pleco and 2 four lines are in a 60 gallon while the other fish are under 3 inches and in. 20 gallon how soon would I have to get the 200+

Something along the lines of 8x4x4 minimum will be needed for life Pacu can easily get past 3ft long and are pretty tall fish.

I agree with the 4' x 4'. 8' in length IMO is too short for pacus.

for the pacu alone your gonna need a 1000+ gallon cause they can get to like 3 feet+.

I agree 1000 gallon minimum.

You better start your upgrade now, if you plan to keep your pacu. Don't even bother with anything less than 1,000 gallons. The 300 gallon tank our pacu are now in is way way way too small. We are now in year three trying to upgrade to a bigger tank for our pacu. For us, it has been a monumental undertaking. We figure the 15' x 4' x 4' tank we are about to set up will house our pacu for life.

lose the pacu... and the size depends on your space and budget.
