so i'm getting into this flowerhorn business and need to upgrade my slender 55 show tank.

but do you guys think a 48x18 (75g or 90g) will be good for 1 possibly two?

or should i go w/a 60x18 footprint or 48x24 footprint?

I'd say the 48x24 would just be barely enough for two full grown FH's. If you go with the 60x18... that would be awesome!! And you can prolly even put three in there...:)

As long as they're divided of course ;)

I would say for a single adult, minimum (for me) would be a 48x18 75 gallon. Now for 2 a 60x18 would be great as long as the fish are divided. Are you looking to keep a breeding pair, or just 1 or 2 show specimens?

To me it depends on which strain we are talking about. Some do better alone, some better with female on the other side. Some are chill and don't swim alot, some like my RM are off the wall crazy psycho..

well i have a bunch fry (now 2"+) i bought from a member on here and depending on how they look or if they pair up.

so a) i'll have one solo looker b) a breeding pair or c) two lookers separated by a divider if they can't live together.

i guess i'd have to wait a few months to see. these guys are going quick!
