Hey guys so I have been thinking for a while about a tank that I would eventually like to have. This is purely day dreaming atm, but I am curious what size I would end up needing if I ever were to have this tank. I would like to have a tank with a school of geophagus tapajos pecking around on sand in the bottom, a school of angels, 1 or 2 severums, a nice Green Terror, a school of dithers maybe silver dollars, a nice pike cichlid to lurk around, and then somewhere around 1-3 more nice colorful cichlids. Basically so I would have a little bit of everything SA cichlids have to offer.

I would assume with the proper aquascape and large enough tank this would be doable, but how big would it need to be? I would like to have some plants that are hardy enough to survive, and one large piece of drift wood as the center piece. I think that would make for a really entertaining tank.

I say get the biggest you can get.

6x2x2 minimum depending on how big your school of metynnis will be.
Sounds like a nice tank in the making. The only thing I would change is the green terror as all the other fish you mention are from the Amazon. the green terror comes from Western Ecuador and to me does not sit right with the other fish. That is just my opinion though.

A "nice" Green Terror, is very wishful thinking lol.

Yeah, 6x2x2 minimum, otherwise you'll get a squashed up bit of chaos

6x2x2 but you'll probably still have aggression
