I really want one of them(might get some other fish, but might just go with a lone RD because I hate seeing my fish kill each other, so he definitely wont go in my community tank)

So I have some money and could probably buy a decently sized tank for him.
Without trying to be cool and say " you need at least 800 gallons" and stuff like that, what do you think is the bare minimum for one to survive to adulthood in, also what is a good size for one to comfortably hit full grown at?

800 gallons.

Just kidding :D

I would say a standard 76 gallon tank (48"x18"x18") would be fine, with a LOT of filtration. If a ton of filtration isn't an option, go for a 100 gallon.

Hope I helped, and good luck,

ok,thanks for the info guys.

I can get a 90 gal for like 300 bucks, so its not that big a deal. I had read on other sites that they require "huge tanks" so i was worried it might be like 150+

edit: actually theres a 100 gal going for 250 bucks. Guess I'll get it. Will be a pain to try and move by myself though.
