In the near future I will be acquiring a show quality Red Texas (12" long). What do you think is a good tank size to house him in? Does a 90g (48x18x24) work well or do you suggest a larger tank? Of course I want the fish to feel as comfortable as possible so any suggestions are appreciated.

I think that's a good enough size tank. Are you keeping it with anything else?

I was going to leave him solo. What could I put with him that wouldn't cause to much stress? :D

An Oscar or some type of mild mannered large cichlid and a Pleco (I can't reach the back of the tank to clean off the algae so I let it do it for me).

90gal is a good size for an adult Devil - solo. Don't put anything else in, except for maybe a very large pleco, and even then, the Devil will decide whether it stays or goes. An oscar will get its ass kicked.

Yeah, I'm just going to add a large Pleco and hope for the best. Thanks for your replies. :)

Yeah, I hope the Texas will spare the Pleco. I should recieve the fish early next week than I will put some pics up.

I have a 5" Blue Dragon that has mauled 2 9" Pleco's.....Most FH are ruthless killers and will tolerate nothing in there tank. Plus a 90 will be easy to clean, you don't need a pleco to do it for you. And if he gets too aggressive and wont let you stick your arm in the tank they make long poles with algea pads on the end....
