would i need for a Red Volitans Lionfish/Pterois volitans and 1 or 2 dwarf angelfish?

a 55gal should be suficient. bigger is better though.

yeah i know bigger is better but this will be my 2nd attempt at salt water..im ready to try again my first attempt was a 10 with a group of seahorses.i just dont want to spend a large amont of $$ till i feel comforatble with salt

Most of the time dwarfs can't be kept together. I would also say about a 55 but like lizardfishman said, bigger is better. Once the lion gets huge there is also a risk of him eating your angels.

seahorses are hard to deal with not a good starter fish a 125-gallon tank will be sufficent for them and hopefully you will like sw and have a better experiences!

I would start with at least a 75. Volitans grow fast and are big fish.

BTW, you will find that Volitans are WAY easier to keep than Sea Horses! LOL!!

yeah i learned the hard way sea horses werent goodstarter fish..i just got frustrated and gave up on saltwater now 6 years latter im ready to give it a go again been reading saltwater books for 6 months

atleast a 75 gallon get a good skimmer dont skimp any money on filtration or lighting they are the most important get a good amount of live rock and sand too

im still looking at skimmers and filters, any tank is most likely not going to happen till the end of july/aug. im going to FL in july so i really dont wanna set anything up till i get back. just doing my research awhile and thanks guys for the info

i you are going to do liverock or just setting it up do it a week before you leave because it takes about 6 weeks for a tank to cycle(kills your waiting time)Good luck
