What sized tank would i need to keep 1 brown bullhead and 2 or 3 longears in for life?

the longears themselves you could keep them in a 55, but for the bullhead i woudl have to say 100 or larger

It depends on the kind of bullhead. Brown and Yellow bullheads can get larger than a black so you would be best off with black then you may be able to use the 55 gallon but I would say larger is always better.

I have caught brown bullheads as large as 6 pounds!

Yellow bullheads are the smallest, browns in the middle, and blacks are the largest if you go by max size.

Browns and blacks generally get around the same size on average, and yellows are normally smaller.

The largest recorded black bullhead was around 25 inches I think.

I have a black bullhead and he's grown about an inch a month, going from about 2 inches to 8 inches in less than 6 months. He's still growing. I wouldn't suggest them for a 55g. He may actually be bigger now, I haven't measured him lately.

how big are yours now. i had 2 bluegills and 2 bullheads in a 85 for a while b4 they out grew it. but for 2 long ears an a bull head you want a 100 at least to keep them happy and have a nice tank for them

ok so if i got a yellow bullhead instead of a brown with 2 or 3 longears what size tank could i get away with?

I wouldn't go under a 75g. 55g possibly, but that's kind of pushing it as a permanent home IMO. Bullheads like to cruise during the night.

Also give him a big pot or something to go in, they love it. Anything that's cavelike and almost completely dark inside they'll turn into their house.
