what size to keep a aro

well didnt know really to post but, what would be a good size to keep an aro, i plan to find one around 4-6 inches and let it grow big, i was thinkin 300-500 gallon, but i dont really know the dimentions if anyone could give me a little help that would be appriciated thanks

6x2x2 or a 180 is the commonly accepted absolute minimum.
 
I kept my RTG in a 6x2x2 and he was a bit jumpy and banged lids pretty regularly. Moved him into a 8x3x2 and it made a huge difference in his behaviour. Doesn't bang lids anymore, swims very powerfully through the tank and his diet increased. :)

It's important to note that RTGs don't get anywhere near as big as silvers so take that into account if you're considering a silver. :)
