I have aquired a cross river puffer thats about 5" long, lovely active thing it is

Im struggling to find decent info and want to ensure it is fed properly.

I have bought freshwater frozen crabs from the asian supermarket local to me, its had frozen prawn too and ill buy earthworms later from the angling store.

Just wondering about snails though, which snails would they eat? I have plenty of MTS in my sump are they desirable to a puffer?

Mts tend too be too hard shelled (at least for smaller puffers) - I would look into ramshorn snails.

would this cross river at 5" be classed as a small puffer for now?
Thats a shame as there loads of the damn things in the sump! :)

You can try trumpets and see if it eats them - no guarantees though. I’d say it’s around a “medium” puffer.
As it grows, the trumpets will be so small there won’t be much nutritional value (though the same can be said about ramshorns).
