Too big for a striata,and too bulky i think,all striatas i have seen are slender...i have been wrong before tho...

No its a Micropeltes. You will notice the markings if you look very carefully, and the body shape makes it obvious. The bottom side of the micropeltes is more rounded that that of a straita, wheras a straita is flat (being that its more of a bottom dweller whereas the micropeltes is on the mid-range to top). Also a straita would be black on the top and white on the bottom.

And by the way, That fish is 18.5 kilos.

Channa Argus do not exist in Thailand.

Channa Argus do not exist in Thailand.

Nor do Arapiama, but you can still catch them there

Arapiama, yes ,Some can fish but I'm afraid C.argus.It grows up quickly.There are many alien species from other countries can live in natural.
