What spare equipment do you guys keep?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Spares: Pump complete, also spare impeller w/ O ring, Heater, Canister Housing w/ O rings, filter cartridges, air stones and pump.

I don't have much spare equipment laying around as everything is used up. These are my equipment that's being used.

Filters: 4 x FX5's, Rena Xp4, AC110's, AC70, Emp 400.
Heaters: 5 x 300watt Rena Smart heaters, Eheim Jaeger 150watt
Airpumps: 2 x 30g Airpump, 1 x 10g air pump

I do have 1 Jaeger heater 100 watt heater as a spare and a bulk pack of Hikari Aro sticks(4 regular packs in one)

filters (everything from top fin to aquatech to an eheim 2215) (stuff that was replaced with better equipment but works still)
2 - 200 watt heaters in the box. (backups... I have bad luck with heaters)
Tons of air pumps (came with setups etc)
UV bulbs
tons of filter media and variations of filter media for different circumstances.
I buy prime by the gallon so thats pretty much a given ;)
couple small spare tanks.
Every med you can think of

Parts
AC110 impellar assembly
Fluval 405 impellar cover (they break)
Gasket kit for 18 watt turbo twist
A few whisper repair kits

In fact most people laugh their asses off when they see my pack rat aquarium shelving in the garage. This is all off the top of my head.

Extra bulbs
Extra HOB
Extra heaters (never toss now matter the size)
Extra air pumps.
Basically I buy allot of used tanks and this crap comes with it, I just never end up tossing it.

Most important I ALWAYS have a few extra spare sponge filters in my tanks. Quick start up for new/fry tanks etc...

I have trouble keeping spare equipment. Any time I end up with anything spare I decide I might as well get the other parts to go with it and end up with a new tank :)

I keep a lot of spare parts. I bought a lot of stuff for cheap and tried to resell it but some stuff never sold so they're now spare parts such as filters, heaters, air pumps, powerheads, media etc.

I was the same way but I ended up with 6 tanks in my house so now all spare equipment gets stored. I got my hands full  All the tanks are like a second job.
