My ex girlfriend caught this guy in a stream by my house over the summer and insisted we keep him. What is he? Its hard taking pics. He seems to always wanna look straight at me.

Green Sunfish and a nice one!

They may get up to 10-12" if well take care of. As for the sexing I have no idea since both male and female looks same to me.

Oh wow. Didnt know he would get that big. I may have to move him to my 75. Are they aggressive to other fish? Right now hes with a pair of galaxy plecos and leaves them alone but will he harrass my geophagus if i put him in with them?

The males usually have more color on their gill plates, and develop a hump on their head as they reach maturity. I'm not quite sure what sex this fish is, but my guess is that it's a female, because of the small amounts of blue streaks on the gill plate.

They are very aggressive, but a very beautiful fish.

He'll need a territory to claim. They're more aggressive with other green sunfishes than anything else, but either way he'll need a spot to call his own or he'll get to be a big bully. IMO

Super aggressive fish. Honestly one of the most aggressive fish I have ever kept and most beautiful. If you can get them with the orange on their fins they are amazing
