What Species of Jewel is This?

Hey guys, picked up a jewel today and im not exactly sure what specific species it is, its not a red jewel but doesnt seem like the "standard" jewel either.. I dont know, heres a pic

Hemichromis guttatus ... though it's not known if it was just line bred or a hybrid.

I had one of these once apon a time . watch out they can turn into quite the little beasts !! They are known as neon jewels at our LFS .

Would these little beasties be able to kill other cichlids? Say.... like severum or fronts?

Yes, they are definitely not mild. A lot of people keep them with the more aggressive Central American cichlids and they do fine.
