I have a 55g with live plants in it, when I bought them, on the package it said it was snailless, now I have a snail, I moved him into my 10 gallon till I can identify him, the 55g water was too strong for him.
Here is a video. He has spots on top of his shell too.

One sec I have to find out how to do this video

Alright it is not letting me add photo right now as I just screen shot it from a video, but will in the morning.

He is kind of an amber color, with spots on his back.

He is moved to a ten gallon of his own half filled, it used to be my bichir eels but now they are upraged t a fifty five. I moved him because I saw him get stuck on the filter, and I think he cool so I really want to keep it.

Sounds like it's a ramshorn. Occasionally they do show up in plants. They are more beneficial than harmless though if you ask me. A good way of population control is to just smoosh them so your fish can eat them. Or assassin snails.

I try to keep about 15 or so in my tanks to help keep the glass and plants clean. They will also eat any uneaten fish food or cucumbers too. You will see little round egg things, they are clear with little specs of the baby snails in them.

Smallest tank I would recommend would be like a 2 gallon, I have some in a 3 gallon fry tank at the inlaws and they are doing a great job. Just make sure there is no copper in any tank additives and you should be fine.

Here he is, he is back in my fifty five now, he is in a floating tubaware container so he won't get stuck in the filter, I will target feed him by crushing Shrimp pellets, and he also has a live plant floating in the tubaware, access to a little air is also there
