what species of snakehead is this?!?!

sorry for the awful quality. i work in a fish shop in manchester and was fascinated by three of them called "shoaling snakeheads" but cant find anything out about them and between 3 of them they have devoured 2 good sized rocket gars, a poly. delhenzi and some big angels in my tank so now they are with my rainbows.


any help would be muchly appriciated.

Channa pleurophralma,

very bad community fish for your channa bleheri.
Pleurophtalma are tropical, bleheri not.
Pleuros are fish eaters, bleheri are food for them.

Here is mine for you. Nearly 1 foot...they are beautifull, in all hues of green and blue, depending on the light....and yes, they will eat smaller fish in seconds...

erm, we got three in the shop about 3 months ago and i snapped them up right away. i have moved them into my poly tank. or was that a bad idea? they are with some big black belts and 3 polys.

they should do fine in there mate , polys are great tankmates for them ,and as long as the blackbelts dont get too aggresive towards the pleuros they will be fine .

you did right grabbing them mate , i have been looking for them for a long time now but never find enough to make a group
