I love to fish in the local canal around my house in south florida. I catch tons of Peacock bass around here and was just wondering if anyone could tell me what species of pbass i am catching. Hers a recent catch of a smaller fish.

good looking fish, very nice dark green and yellow patterning, I agree a few of those would look great in a nice big aquarium.
thanks all and i have raised a few young ones since they spawn all around here. I don't have any right now but can catch em almost any time. Small hooks and a wiggling minnow usually does the trick for the small ones. They are hard to convert to pelets or frozen wen u catch them from the wild. The adults are fun to fish for as well. Wish i had enough room and i would keep a few of em. Beautiful fish.
Just went fishing and caught another larger male. Maybe this will help. Also a picture of a nice 12 mayan cichlid =) The last pic is hard to see but you can see small shadows of a school of hundreds of young pbass!
