I hear that the Potamotrygon Motoro is best to start off with is that true?

Can they be kept with RD, Jacks, Pacu's??? Are these fish too aggressive?

What should I know before purchasing one?? Where is a good place to order one?
I hear a lot of people loose them constantly is that true?

motoros are pretty good starter rays, and a few others like leos i suppose if you have the money lol. I would urdge you to get a captive bred one, they are tougher and better feeding, not to mention the good of getting a CB fish. People tend to loose the smaller rays, most commonly retics. Also water quality still has to be good, whatever the ray. Also make sure you have room for them, they are big and demand a lot of space. There are a few helpful stickies if you havent read through them already.

Like Davo said Motorros are great starters. I would also highly suggest you buy "Freshwater Stingrays" by Dr. Richard Ross. Its def. the ray keepers bible! Check out our Stingray forum for some great info.

Agreed with the book. Its so cheap and chock full of information that its really a must have before investing on stingrays. Rays and cichlids arent the best partners in the tank... cichlids can be belligerent and may pick on the rays. Pacus might pick on the ray's tail too.

Sorry bro but im pretty sure rays are a no no in oklahoma

but look on the bright side i have just saved you hours of research

REALLY?!
i was not aware that the laws had changed in that case we need to have the restricted fish by state list ammended
