Hey guys, i will hopefully be remodeling very soon, Have a look at the pics and tell me what substrate you would use...

It will be stocked with pbass and pleco's, Large centre piece of drift wood, amazon sword and floating plants.

If you want, back your vote up with a pic :)

I would go for either eco complete planted tank black, or ADA aquasoil black. With amazon swords they need a good space to root in, and will look much better with a good plant substrate.

No worries i will look into it. Will they grow ok when mounted on a peice of driftwood if the roots aren't in the substrate?

In the first pic, how did the wall come out a plum color? I like that.

No lights on in the room and didn't use the flash. The tubes are Aqua-glo 18000K, they have a violet/plum kind of glow.

Come on peeps, keep voting... i'm torn as to which one to use...

Dunno what species of pleco you are getting/have, but in my experience, unless they are black and white, they look better on a lighter substrate brings both colours and patterning out more. Also sand shows up all of a plecos crap, so i'd go for a light covered gravel with a couple of larger river rocks to add some size contrast.

i look at tanks as to what i plan to do with them then i think sand , if i plan on breeding i would rather have no gravel at all..but if not i love black beach sand , and natural colors natural if i am doing plants ..but Black is beautiful it brings out color
