What syno should i get?

Im looking gor a Synodontis, i want 1 that lives for a long time and woulnt outgrow a 125.
This is the list of synodontis i can order, i only want 1 sp. what should i get?

Microsynodontis batesii

Brachysynodontis batensoda

Synodontis acanthomias
Synodontis alberti
Synodontis angelicus
Synodontis brichardi
Synodontis contractus
Synodontis decorus
Synodontis eupterus
Synodontis flavitaeniatus
Synodontis greshoffi

Synodontis pleurops
Synodontis nigriventris
Synodontis notatus
Synodontis ocellifer
Synodontis pardalis
Synodontis soloni
 
S.acanthomias(18-20"),S.angelicus(10-12") and S.decorus(10-12") would all probably outgrow your 125 when full grown! In my experience all the rest would fall in the range of 4"-8" and be suitable for your tank. The only one I have no experience with is S.pardalis, which if it's the true pardalis, I've never even seen yet!:D
 
As a follow up answer to "which one to get?", I'm partial to an orange striped S.flavitaeniatus, or the high backed, stubby shape of the B.batensoda! If you haven't done so already, I would definately go to Planetcatfish.com and read up on the catfish you might be interested in! Hope this helps!:)
 
what else will keep with them? you could do a syno community with 6 nigriventis ( they need to be in schools, otherwise they will be very shy), 1 notatus, 1 ocellifer

but if you only want one it might be fun to have an eupterus. they´re pretty active and will come to the surface when its feeding time.

decorus and flavitaenitus are better looking IMO though.
 
Dont think about the Tankmates it will be fine.
 
Im thinking Synodontis acanthomias even though it gets big.
