I have 2 VATF'S, Spotted Gar, Red Tail Payara (at 12:00noon;)) in my tank.
What else am I missing to have a teeth tank? I had a pike odoe, red tail/yellow ace. What else with teeth that is not related to what I have (like Goliath, Armatus, etc...).

Anybody?

When it comes to FW fish, the characin family (hydrolycus, hoplias, piranha, hydrocynus, pac, tetras ect..) tend to have some impressive set of dentures.

Other fish that have an impressive mouthfull though you cant see them that well are polys.

Hmm...maybe a native like a red-fin/chain pickeral that can tolerate warmer water would also be a good choice. Or perhaps Amia calva but like the polys the teeh are kind of hard to see.

What about a bagarious sp.? They have some impressive dental work for a catfish.

Other then that I really cant think of much besides another fish in the characin family.

Is there anything with a nice set of teeth like the ATF, Payara? Looking for something that you can see right away :)
Piranhas are out the Q. They will prob eat all my fish and myself :)

fw barracuda

Phagos but they will need a small species tank.

Just got my little son (Lol) from Ocean Blue. Red Tail Payara at 8.25"
I really hope my VATF'S last with him being that he has a whole lot of size compared to my 7-8" Tigers! Dude looks crazy and ready to kill :).I'll post some pics Monday morn.

The aces that I had were pretty cheesey. They didn't do much and just got punked around by my ATF's (except the yellow ace, he rolled with the crowd).
I thought of a wolf, but they seem to melow (as far as the wolf's that I have heard of).
Any other Teeth Takers (species)? I think Dorado and brycon might be a little to fierce for my little clan, what do you think??????????
I do plan on adding a Histrix pretty soon (not a teeth fish, but a real cool fish to have :))

IME red-tails arent too aggressive so they should be ok with your ATF.

Check Charax gibbus. When I use to work at a LFS we would occasionally get them in in the 5" range and they were pretty cool. Like mini payara.

Wow, they are so ugly :)
How big do they get? Any info on these ugly creatures?
