My tank is at 80 right now; I've read they need high temps, like discus. Should I bump it up to 82? I know the severums in the tank can take the heat, but I'm not sure about the fire eel or pleco.:)

You can keep it between 80-86 and the higher the better, pleco and eel can take the 86 no problem i would say keep 83-84. I keep me tanks at 86.

Agreed bro.

The higher the temp, the less chance for disease, parasites, etc...

Just make sure to have plenty of surface aggitation to keep the O2 exchange high.:D

There is a bubbler in the tank, along with my two XP3s' spray bars, so I guess O2 exchange shouldn't be a problem. I'm worried most about the eel, heard they can't take high temps to long. I'll bump it up slowly to 84.

Bump it up slowly over an extended period of time. Just keep track of any behavioral changes. Keep in mind, higher metabolism and aggressive behavior is common at a higher temp, for most fish.;)

I have no idea and i breed rays:D

I keep mine at a solid 25C (approx. 77F) and have done for two years. They do fine and are very active. I've no intention of changing unless I start to get problems. If the rays are doing ok I wouldn't worry about upping the temp.

my tank runs between 86 and 92 damn summer and my pump I can't keep it undercontol 98% of the time I'm @ 90
