What temperatue for european sturgeon?

I keep seeing post about how they need to be kept at a cooler temperature. What is this temperature? Also I noticed that the europeans are sort of a saltwater brakish type fish. Anyone know the salitity the water needs to be kept at? Thanks.

Sturgeon don't need brackish water. Most live in total fresh water but they can go into saltwater. I woul;dn't owrry about the salt factor.

In the past, my sturgeons have done best in 40-50 degree water

You use a chiller the temperatures down?

Nope. they were in a pond outdoors. The water got into the lower 70s in the summer and they didn't fair very well, so I had to freeze a few 2 liter bottles of water and dump them in to help cool the water.

Yah I got a sturgeon and he didnt do well in warm water, I was told about 67-70 degrease is what they need.... I got a big lesson on that after my frist one. Well good luck!

So would I be fine dropping Ice into my tank to moderate the temperature then?

I never tried that before, my room is consistantly cold so my water in my tanks are normally pretty cold unless I put a heater in. You should try and read up on that, I am sure they have it on the web somewhere, that or someone on here is bound to know.
