So I'm gonna be stepping up my coral game here soon. What kind of tests do I need to pick up and what company do you prefer? I have the API saltwater master test kit (pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate) , But what about calcium, alkalinity, iodine, magnesium, phosphate, etc. Its going to be just a softie and LPS tank for now. Eventually I'll break into SPS but prob not for another 6 months...

I just seen another mastertest by API today, dont know if its new but i've never seen it before is a "Reef Master Test Kit" tests calcium, Kh, Phosphate, and something else... cant quite remember... kinda funny I see that, then see this thread... Theres also a more expensive kit... I'll track down where I seen it, I think it was Dr. Smith Fosters something where It had a whole crap load of things in it in a big suitcase... Once I find it I'll post a link

Calcium, pH, alk, nitrate...really all I have.

Phosphate is usually a meter situation vs a test kit.
