what the best bulb?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
T-5 and T-8 are smaller than your standard Florescent. The Florescent in your garage is a T10 or T12. They T-8 is thinner and the T-5 is really thin....T-5's will not fit a standard light fixture.

To answer the rest of your question we would need to know the size of the tank, stock list of plants, Fresh water or Salt water, and what you hope to accomplish, etc....

its a 30 gal, java fern, some red ludwigia(one sold at petsmart)i actually think its oval ludwigia though, amazon sword, lilacina, corkscrew val. id like to start a carpet of glossostigma eventually too.

Most bulbs as long as they stay between 6700k and 10000k are fine to use. A lot of people prefer the 6700k for more of a yellow look and it does seem to be a little better. 10000k is more white. If you are going to try a carpet of glosso you really need high lighting with ferts and co2.

Would be good to know the size of your tank, watts per gallon, substrate and ferts you use if any.

*bumpage* uhh i use flourish atm the moment with a eco complete/gravel mix for substrate. i plan on getting more ferts ie excel, iron

T-5 ho are really nice but the corallife t5 fixture would work really well for you nice lights that are slim and cheap
