Ok Started to cycle my tank. 1 days old.
now woke up this morning with a layer of bubbles on the top..
not foam just bubbles...

just wondering....am i doing something wrong here..

i have a mechanical filter that blows out bubbles and
no Underground filters
or aerators or whatever those things are called.

now im just wondering if thats what causes it like the surface not being agitated enough to break surface tention or something worse like realy bad water quality?

hmmm...

heres some pictures

If you just filled the tank1 day ago its normal, don't know why it does it just know it does

yea i know it does it but i got realy no clue. why it does it at the start....
it looks cool dont you reckon tho?

Only time I've had bubbles was from a "stagnant" tank. As in I had no surface agitation or a filter and kept fish still in the tank. Essentially the water wasn't too good. IDK why for you though.

Your water needs to be degassed before it enters the tank, it can actually be quite bad for the fish. The way to do it is to have much more agitation in the water before it goes into the tank, this releases the gasses trapped in your municipal water supply. I suggest using the bubbles in the bucket or whatever you use to fill with for an hour or so before putting that water in the aquarium. Those tiny bubbles can be like a diver coming up to fast from the depths and getting the bends.

I think your correct. i dont have aggitation and i think its just degassing itself from the minimal bubbles my filter creates but its not enough to penetrate the surface tension ....
