Yeah, they are just sorting out pecking order...sometimes a big water change would get mine to do this.

That's one of the things I do to induce spawning move tank around. Pecking order lmfao! Their not chickens! Rbp don't have a pecking order one doesn't eat while rest swim there waiting they all get in on the action a once. One might be a lil meaner than others but there isn't no pecking order!
I've seen it time n time again n just cause their doing don't mean they will(spawn) ask the original thread starter what his fish did within weeks of him noticing the behavior!they spawned! I seen it almost weekly!I know what spawning behavior looks like!but again just cause they going through the motions don't mean their going to!just means their practicing and or getting ready.
