I JUST looked into my aquarium, and noticed that one of my glass catfish looks very, very strange. Her eye is bulging out, her stomach is extended, and her entire body is much lighter and pinker. Sorry for the blurriness of the pics, it was all I could get - she's been hiding under a log away from the rest of the school. It was why I first noticed her.

I also took a pic of one of the healthy glassfish, under the same lighting conditions, for comparison. What's wrong with my one sick one??

Never in my life would I have thought of transparent fish being easier to diagnose when they are sick...but...

Everything looks like an internal bacterial infection. Put that one in a separate tank for treatment. Many anti-fungal meds will treat bacterial infections, but there are meds specifically for internal problems like this. Tri-sulfa is a good product but really harsh if the fish is on it's last leg.

One or two of mine has this. I have also heard that this is an internal infection/parasite. However, I have had one with this condition for over 8 months. He's still going strong with no treatment. What you really have to worry about is when their muscle starts turning white. It hasn't seemed to spread.
