Lost another gachua to fungal infection. Water is good, temp is at 75-80. Lost about 3 in the past 4 months due to white fungus and fin rot......

i think Timmy uses artificial plants.

what was in the tank before the gachua? can you post some pics of what it looks like?

New tank, new filter etc. Been up for a year or so. water change every 2-3 weeks because of the number of them... Pics will be up later...

hi timmy , where are you located or what temps are you keeping at and what region did the gachua come from ? they could be a sub-tropical or temperate species ,are you at full trop temps , will check out pics when you put up

cheers col

I belive they are mainland gachuas. Temp around 79 it is about 80 F here daily.....

Any chance you could step up your WC schedule??
I think that that might be a significant cause for your problems.

I change the water in my tanks daily..well i only have 4 so not that big a deal.

i think daily water changes for channa might be a bit excessive. from my experience these fish don't require pristine water. in fact they don't seem to like big changes at all.

absolutly agree , the top breeders are doing around 3-4 water changes a year !! channa prefer aged water , they do not like fresh water ,in fact many struggle with large water changes ,some are ok with them but the majority are much happier with aged water , its best to keep nitrate down via live plants , obviously with big micros ect this may not be an option .

lets get the pics up some we can see what we are dealing with
