I was at an LFS on long Island last night and was looking at their "mixed CA/SA" tank. There was an amazing cichlid in there that looked a little like a festae in markings but was mostly blue not red. It had all the vertical black bars and a distinctive black spot right by the tail. I'm thinking maybe a hybrid but I was wondering if anyone knew. I should have grabbed a picture but didn't think of it at the time.

With no visual, i would guess that "Mixed CA/SA" means hybrid.

There were a few standards in there as well as some that looked hybrid. There was a nice Red Devil, a Jag, a Texas, etc. But yeah, guess I needed a picture. I kinda want to buy him but I dont think I have space without knowing how big he'll get.

electric blue JD? young jds can look festaelike in patterns. and Sorry I kept a Mayan for a long time and there was no blue at all on her.
