What the heck is the difference?

Looking for a 125 gallon undergravel filter and for 20 dallars cheaper you can get a more box like flat undergravel filter opposed to the ridged (mountain like pattern) one. So what is the difference cause I'd obviously rather get the cheaper one. If you go to amazon.com and type in undergravel filter 125 gallon you will see what im talking about.

I haven't used UF's in years but I will say that the ridged designed UF performed better, and yes as you stated better quality, and durability.

are you running a salt tank? I have a ug system on my my 180 oscar tank, it is duel bottem drilled and I run is reversed with large sponges on the stand up.

unless you have a bottom drilled tank, with pumps under cab and your fish not diggers I would not go UG.
