Bare bottom 30 gal.
Boiled drift wood.
Light on only 6 hrs.
3 fish.
Weekly water changes.
Canister and box filter.
Why is this white fungus accumulating on my glass?
None of my other tanks have it. It even grows on the heater what is it and how do I get rid of it???

My guess (without a pic) is since it is everywhere, beginning of algae, esp. if it is more of like a haze then anything else.

Well I cleaned it off so I have to wait for it to form again but it's not near a window.

have you been feeding food that your fish don't touch? It happens to me all the time in my bare bottom tanks when fish don't clean up everything I feed them. Rotting food just turns to fuzzy white stuff. If I was right, just got a raphael cat, or some snails or some other scavenger that lives on uneaten food.

i have it too. i think its algae as my pleco loves it. he got super fat off it. easily cleaned, nothing to worry about really.
freaked me out the first time i saw it :O

I have it in just one tank, too. It's really bizarre; I'll scrape it off, and it grows back. I don't ever overfeed, do regular water changes--and it hasn't shown up in my other 11 tanks!! No live plants (all cichlids) and no direct sun.
