Nice Veil-Tail(long-finned) Oscar....Gorgeous speciman...Pretty common here in the San Francisco Bay Area....3-5 inch juveniles go for $5.99-15.99...They were popular a couple years back, maybe 2000-2004....Nice fish though....Still an Oscar...

I have my veil tail in my avatar if you want to know what the black one looks like (mines fins are not as long as the white ones though). I don't know about price, I saved the guy from the walmart tank labeled oscars, meaning they were all the same price reguardless of kind. Havent really seen them around here since then though.

wow those are really pretty. I agree Ive never seen them before in my life! Ive never even seen them for sale somewhere. Id probably buy one if I saw them for sale. Im from the bay (nor cal) and I cant remember seeing them maybe its because I didnt know enough about fish then. Hmm next time I cruise up there Ill keep an eye out..really like them though! does anyone know how they act? Im guessing they are exactly like Oscars but long fins? So interesting!

Looking at the vid, i didn't like the white, but the black in your avatar looks better IMO. Anyway, moved to CA/SA cichlids.

I love the look of veil tail Oscars. They have one here at a LFS and he is beautiful, around 3 1/2" long. If I had a proper place for him (I'm fully stocked at the moment) he would be mine.
