I recently set up a ten gallon planted tank, with a few cherry shrimp. Along with the plants came ~3 of these little snails. I threw one away that looked an awful lot like a ramshorn snail (bane of my existence!) But the other two look like the one pictured. They appear to eat algae, since I can see little paths through the algae on the glass. Neat lookin critters that's for sure.

Physas sp. I can't be too sure with that small resolution pic though.

Looks like a pond snail to me, and if you hate rams you will hate ponds. They reproduce just as quick as rams. But you can mail all the rams and ponds you want to me, I love em

They breed like CRAZY! They are the snails that you can't get out of your tank once it's in their. I hope you don't mind them.

Looks like I'll have a constant food source for my pack of yo-yo loaches, too bad they can't live in that tank (it's housing cherry shrimp.)

why cant they live with the shrimp? If anything the shrimp will eat the snail eggs
I meant, it's too bad the yo-yos can't live in that tank, lol. I've already pulled a little baby snail out of there today, and the big one I took the picture of...I hope the shrimp DO eat the eggs! That's the only way I'll be rid of them.
