So I noticed how low my PH was a week or so ago, I never really thought anything of it because it comes out of the tap usually at about an 8. But my tank is at a 6 and I can't figure out why. In the picture below are 4 PH tests. The 2 on the left, are normal test. The 2 on the right ate high range. My tank PH is reading roughly a 6.... My tap, is a 8.4ish. What gives? I added a little over a half cup of crushed coral, over a week ago, and nothing. What in my tank would make the PH so low?

What are the rest of your parameters, and size of your tank? How often do you do water changes and what percent of your tank do you replace? I have heard high nitrates can give low pH results.

Nitrite is at about 1.0 ppm or less, nitrate is about 10 ppm. Ammonia is 0.25 ppm. This tank has been ridiculous to get cycled, on about 3 months now.

Sounds like u added fish too soon! Any bio media?

Also a stable ph (high or low) is better then a fluctuating ph, although urs isnt ideal its better to stay the same then raise and lower. .1 increase is 10x the amount so imagine your fish!

I think you may find this article handy:

How full of a tank is this? I agree with the other people that the tank isn't cycled and I believe that is probably what is causing the lowered ph. What I suggest is to go pick up some tetra safe start if the tank is fw, and throw that into the tank and don't do a water change for 48 hours. This will allow the good bacteria to establish and the tank will be cycled.

Idk if that has actual live bacteria in it, you should monitor your tank closely over the next few days for a ammonia spike. Safestart has been tested and proven to actually have live bacteria.
