State of chaos
i was just moving my pregnant (VERY pregnant) Western Mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) into quarentine and she felt SQUISHY? i know that their chest cavities expand from 20+ growing fry but all of her felt squishy...
this will be her 3rd litter of fry with me and ive never had this happen before?
whats going on? could it be lack of nutrition?

i just held her in my hand (moving her from one tank to another) i didnt squeeze her or anything...lol

Possibly stress from a move.
You said never happened B4, are you impliing that you check all you moquitofish for squshiness?

Are you saying you guys don't test the squishyness of your fish with a meat tenderizer? I guess I'm the only one...

i think its fine.

mosquito fish are tiny. tiny things 99.9% of the time feel "squishy" to us.

think i'll go give my aro a squeeze, see if he's pregnant.

Mosquitofish are livebearers, and she actually seems to be about to throw fry...like in the next couple of days.
